Administrative Assistant

This position performs administrative clerical work utilizing computer program skills and is the initial key representative to the agency. 

- Distribute forms to applicants and participants upon request and assist with proper completion.
- Maintain current, accurate waiting list which includes:  review applications and determine apparent eligibility, prepare appropriate letters of notification of eligibility or ineligibility, transfer incomplete, ineligible or dropped applicants to “inactive” status, prepare annual mass mailing to update waiting list to ensure validity of applicants.
- Work closely with Housing Specialists to obtain and maintain full lease-up of units by contacting applicants in a timely manner.
- Prepare brochures and newsletters.
- Prepare monthly mailings to initiate recertifications.
- Conduct criminal background checks, including sex offender registry on new applicants.
- Explain program information to the public in an effective and professional manner.
- Receive visitors, determine nature of business, supply appropriate information or direct to proper person.
